InCommon Future 2019

Recognizing the inseparability of software and services for operating a robust and sustainable identity and access Federation, InCommon will assume stewardship of the TIER software and continue the upward trajectory launched by that program. One key need to ensure sustainability is funding. See the rationale and resources related to this change and the related proposed fee increase.

Working Groups and InCommon Governance

InCommon now serves a community of more than 3 million end-users (students, faculty and staff; as of February 2009). For more, see the InCommon FAQ and the InCommon Participants List.

See this page for instructions on gaining access to protected sections or to gain edit access.

Draft Report on InCommon Future

The InCommon Future group is charged with developing a three-year plan that recommends InCommon's scope and activities: who InCommon serves, with what set of services, and how it will implement this next phase, including a governance and financial model. The report is posted on the InCommon Future wiki, which also includes details about the several opportunities to hear about the report and provide comment and feedback.

Because of the importance of this group's deliberations, and recognizing that a number of InCommon participants are not Internet2 members, all three of the presentations will be available to remote participants. The first opportunity is Monday, April 27, at 5:00 p.m. EDT. This is the InCommon Forum at the Internet2 Member Meeting and we will use Adobe Connect to provide remote access. Visit the InCommon Future wiki for details on how to participate.

For those going to the Member Meeting, there are a number of sessions of interest to InCommon Participants.
