InCommon Future 2019

Recognizing the inseparability of software and services for operating a robust and sustainable identity and access Federation, InCommon will assume stewardship of the TIER software and continue the upward trajectory launched by that program. One key need to ensure sustainability is funding. See the rationale and resources related to this change and the related proposed fee increase.

The InCommon Steering Committee provides oversight and governance for InCommon. Meeting minutes are public and available here.

The InCommon Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) provides technical guidance for the InCommon Federation and typically has several working groups chartered to explore issues and technology. Meeting minutes are public and available here.

The InCommon Community Trust and Assurance Board (CTAB)  is the oversight body of the InCommon Assurance Program and advisory to the InCommon Steering Committee. CTAB Meeting minutes are available here.

Toolkits

Toolkits provide resources to help campus information technology professionals develop the case for federating. This material will help make the case with such diverse groups as chief information officers and campus stakeholders. The material in this section includes slide decks that you can use, as well as overviews and documents for your background and to use in presentations.
