Notes

Announcements/Updates:
Thomson Reuters and BioOne recently joined InCommon.
Kennedy has new position at JHU

This group has accomplished the goals we set out to accomplish.  Congratulations.  Job well done.

Discussion around InCommon taking on an administrative role regarding vendors joining the federation.  This group needs to document what stage we are at with which vendors.  And when it is appropriate to follow up in which ways with which vendors.  Need some way that this information will not be lost.  Ongoing, the best practices will need care and feeding.  There is international and NISO interest and ongoing work that may effect these best practices looking out.

Good for this group to document unfinished business.  There may eventually be a phase III called together.

Kent noted three successes for this group to note to InCommon:
- business development (understanding of library community, creating federation business, selling the concept of federation)
- best practices and a library interest group
- InCommon needs technology leadership and coordinated relationship between technology leadership and various interest groups (including library)

Phase III - not sure when it will be called together or what topics might cause library interest group to come together and form working groups.  One obvious area is in terms of implementing some of the things that have come out of phase I and phase II.

Ann - InCommon is planning Shibboleth training sessions for summer, 3 slots around the country.  Think of ways to engage in possible locations or interest areas for these sessions.
