Working Group Close Out

The group presented to the Itana Community on June 7th,2024.  Deliverables have been linked below.  The group will not be meeting over the summer. We may revisit in the fall to follow up on next steps for the outputs.  

Charge, what are we doing

The group is forming in the fall of 2023.  While the team will have some criteria of success from the ITANA steering team, the group will also be providing insight and guidance on what are valuable deliverables from this work.  Stay tuned as we haven't met yet. The highest level deliverable will be to provide a capability model for an IT governance capability within the context of higher education.

How to join us

A call to participate will go out to the ITANA list and as a working group summary in the ITANA meeting.  We will welcome people to join at any time.  All skill levels are welcome to join.  This effort has concrete deliverables but knowledge sharing and building a network via working in a smaller group are also desired outcomes of this work.  

Meeting frequency

A small team is meeting weekly to plan the summits.

Proposed Summit and deliverable timeline:

  • Pre-summit meeting for everyone wanting to participate in summits Jan 12th 10am - noon Central Time (11am - 1pm Eastern, 8am -10am Pacific)

    • Zoom link, you will need to be logged into Zoom as that is a requirement of our zoom implementation:  Will send out in email ahead of the meeting.


  • Capability Practice - Donut Shop - Friday Jan 19th 3-4 pm central time.  Zoom info sent out to team email.
  • Summit 1 – February 2nd 10am - noon Central Time (11am - 1pm Eastern, 8am -10am Pacific) 
    • Zoom link, you will need to be logged into Zoom as that is a requirement of our zoom implementation: Will send out in email ahead of the meeting.
  • Summit 2 – February 23rd 10am - noon Central Time (11am - 1pm Eastern, 8am -10am Pacific)
    • Zoom link, you will need to be logged into Zoom as that is a requirement of our zoom implementation:Will send out in email ahead of the meeting.
  • Post Summit meetings March 8th, March 22nd, April 5th 10am tenative - team can discuss during Summits.  
  • Deliverable April 26th, presentation moved to June 7th.

How long is this going to take

Our goal is to have a deliverable by the end of April 2024.   Our final presentation is due to Itana meeting on June 7th.

    •  IT governance establishes the strategic and technical processes, roles, and structure necessary to align strategy and investments with the university’s mission, vision, values, and goals, and to ensure the effective and efficient use of IT resources and services across the university.
