Internet2 is currently seeking volunteers for community leadership positions. As a community leader, you’ll help steward our cloud service offerings to ensure they meet the needs of our stakeholders. Several key leadership roles are open and detailed below. 

Volunteering for a community leadership position is an excellent way to contribute to the community, broaden your professional network, and hone leadership skills. 

We hope that you will consider joining one of our community groups to help us make a positive impact in the cloud for the research and education community.



Open Leadership Committees and Groups

Share your expertise and contribute to the cloud community. Email Sean O’Brien (sobrien@internet2.edu) with a statement of interest by January 31, 2023. Nominations will be reviewed shortly thereafter and evaluated based on each group's charter or process.

NET+ Program Advisory Group - two openings

Program Advisory Groups (PAGs) provide essential community input to advise and guide the creation and direction of Internet2 programs and services. The NET+ PAG is a trusted group of IT leaders (CIO’s, Deputy CIO’s, CISO’s, etc.) that provides ongoing advice to the Internet2 cloud leadership team and informs the community about our various cloud programs.

Cloud Services Technology Architecture Advisory Committee - three openings

The Cloud Services Technology Architecture Advisory Committee is a standing architecture strategy group of community members CSTAAC advises Internet2's NET+ and other cloud program areas.

NET+ Business Procurement and Legal Advisory Committee - one opening

Composed of leaders in the higher education legal and procurement community, this committee provides feedback on NET+ contracts and the NET+ cloud services portfolio.

NET+ Cloud Scorecard and Institutional Profiles Working Group - one opening

The NET+ Cloud Scorecard and Institutional Profiles Working Group represents the research and education cloud community in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Cloud Scorecard and associated resources.

These groups meet monthly and typically require around 12-24 hours of commitment annually.

Open Service Advisory Board Positions

Service Advisory Boards (SABs) provide feedback to both NET+ and the Cloud Service Provider on the service offering and program. They are an important means of  providing the service provider with feedback on the product and product roadmap. SAB members come from institutions who are participating in the NET+ program by leveraging the NET+ contract. Learn more about expectations for service advisory board participation.
