Dec. 20, 2006

  • Project Module Finished
  • National and Regional Themes Finalized

January 30, 2007

  • Additional Modules (Events, News, etc.) Completed
  • Admin Project Moderation Completed
  • Addition of additional regions to pilot
  • Multi-site compatability developed

February-April, 2007

  • Beta Testing

K20 Regional Website Project - Draft Timeline
 

Early September 

  • Multisite implementation thoroughly bug checked and operating smoothly.
  • Navigation systems completed and implemented within regional and national site
    • Create dummy pages all subnav items.
    • Test the flow between pages
  • Create several page templates to be shared between multiple regional sites, including homepage design
    • Define what page layout designs are necessary
    • Mock up the page designs in photoshop
    • Render the photoshop design files into HTML
    • Create the new Drupal template by modifying the original php template in Drupal.
    • Figure out how to create and use Blocks and Boxes - integrated into the design using the news module as a content source

  • Finalize and implement national and regional header template design
    • Design in photoshop
    • Render photoshop design to HTML
    • Insert into Drupal template
  • User account sign up and edit functionality implemented
    • Define user attributes
    • Establish permission roles -shared between multiple sites
    • Figure out new account approval process (moderated/approved or unmoderated but admin notified?)
    • Add roles to the site via the admin interface
  • News functionality enabled
    • Define attributes of a news story (title, url, teaser text, etc.)
    • Define functionality around news stories
    • Decide where the content will be displayed
    • Select the appropriate page template to display news
    • Create a news page
    • Create a custom block or box to display teaser stories on the homepage
    • Create a custom news module to enable the necessary news functionality 

Early November

  • Projects module complete
  • Events module complete
  • Enable site Admin ability to view content from other regions and display  content to appear on the homepage.  

December 4th, 2006
 

  • Present the beta version of the new national and MAGPI regional site  to the K20 community at the I2 Fall Member Meeting.
    • Multisite functionality working
    • User account creation working in common database
    • Ability to create and modify projects by region
    • Ability to create and modify news articles and events by region - with ability to share the content between the two
    • People directory search
    • Theming designs implemented - create a variety of page templates that can be shared between regional and national sites
