Michael Gettes will add a use case to this page, posing a case where someone who has already graduated can use their CommIT ID to being the application process for graduate or professional school.

Two discussions to highlight:
1) CommIT ID as a national student identifier – as policy, this ID should not unlock anything on its own. The ID should be available to CommIT collaborators for business purposes, but should not be published anywhere. Only the person who owns the ID should be able to implement a business transaction with that ID.
2) Is there a need, for those who desire anonymity (perhaps a high-profile person applying to a school), to allow either 1) multiple CommIT IDs that are somehow linked or 2) allow a single identifier, but with the ability to create aliases?
