DISCUSSION

The group reviewed the draft agenda at https://spaces.at.internet2.edu/display/CAMP2013/CAMP+Pre+Conference
Made some tweaks to amount of time for Q&A after each presentation

-Based on input from Nathan, changed exercise #1 to be: "Drawing your environment and discussing use cases and trust relationships"
-Nathan shared an "IAM Focus Group Script - Spring 2013 " script that can be used with the drawing exercise
-It's a good warm-up for people to draw the user populations that they serve & the resources and applications they are trying to provide access to
-we can refer back to those drawings throughout
-The drawing exercise will be INSTEAD of doing a Gap Analysis.
-We updated the abstract on the public page of Pre-Conference also, so it no longer mentions doing a Gap Analysis
-Says instead : "Exercises to help you evaluate your users, resources and policies"

For the Drawing Exercise, need legal paper and markers
[AI] (Emily) will handle getting legal paper and markers

[AI] (Emily) will look into easel and flip chart pad for each table to use during breakouts.
UPDATE: Each easel and flip chart costs  $80.
Also, having 6 of easels can obstruct vision for some of the tables.
Decision is to have one easel/flip chart.  Each group will tear off a page and use that page at their table.  Can tape those pages to the wall for continued reference.

Nathan will come up with a few scenarios for the group to discuss after they draw their diagram for breakout #1.
Scenario could be about deploying applications to the various populations being served.
How federations and trust relationships can play a role.
Nathan will work on this

===
JaneMarie will work more on her section next week.

Renee mentioned work done by Von Welch for the CIC schools on how to think about security issues and developing a federated security policy. Does anyone have a link to this?

Possible topics:
-Password resets
-Incident response
-InCommon Participant POP
(Steve will leave the  POP topic to JaneMarie for the most part)

-JaneMarie noted that Lafayette has a policy on the website for data stewardship and attrbirtue release
-Possible breakout topic: How would you put one of these together If you are running an IDP
-Get people talking about potential risks

There may be some new security risks with federation, but you also eliminate some risks that were there before. Federated Login has advantages. Might be good for dissuasion during the breakout
