1.  NTAC Updates
-nominations for NTAC Vice Chair
Nominations are open for NTAC Vice Chair.  The new Vice Chair will assume the office in January of 2010 and then become Chair in January of 2011.  Please contact Linda Roos to nominate someone.  Self-nominations are acceptable.
-architecture document endorsement letter
All suggested changes to the architecture document have been made.  The NTAC voted and unanimously agreed to endorse the architecture document and an endorsement letter will be sent to Internet2 staff.
2.  Update from Internet2
Chris Robb mentioned that the MX upgrades occurred on August 5 for NYC and August 17 for DC to swap out the T640 and swap in the MX routers.  The Atlanta router swap is scheduled to occur on September 1.
The Ashburn exchange point has been upgraded and has quickly become the busiest exchange point.  Traffic load has been good as the semester begins.
A meeting on the CPS/TR consolidation will occur on September 3, 2009.  Caren mentioned that, as part of the consolidation plan, CPS and TR will each become customers of the other.
Eric mentioned that Internet2 was approached to be the lead on an NSF MRI proposal.  The Councils (AOAC, ERAC, RAC) provided input and endorsement for this and community endorsement commenced about a week prior to the proposal due date.  The participants in the proposal were each asked to sign a specific letter of collaboration.  Two calls were held with connectors, three calls were held with University participants.  Internet2 received 60 letters of collaboration (15 from connectors, 31 from campuses and some others, as well).  The proposal has been submitted and the PIs await feedback from the NSF.
3.  Update from AOAC
The AOAC discussed many of the topics from the Internet2 update including the MX upgrade, the DYNES proposal and the architecture document.  Additionally, the membership structure communications plan was described to the AOAC.
4.  Update from Peering Working Group
Jeff Bartig mentioned that the peering working group met in August and received an update (see NTAC peering notes from 8/18/09).  Jeff also mentioned that the CPS/TR consolidation meeting will occur during the first week of September.
5.  Update from DCN Working Group
Linda Winkler was not available.  Paul asked what effect ION and DYNES will have on the role of the DCN working group.  Eric mentioned that the group may change focus in one of two ways: a) they may focus on the operational issues associated with ION or b) they may focus on long-term planning.  At Joint Techs, it was decided that the group would focus on both issues for now.

David Farmer was unavailable.  Michael Lambert indicated that the group last spoke a year ago.
7   Update from Performance Working Group
