1. Dave Farmer, Paul Schopis, Dave Reese offered to write an initial recommendation/write up on membership within this group, roles and expectations.
STATUS: As per last call, will try to see where they are on this.
2. Eric Boyd to create new list (consolidated on measurement - see notes below); expect an email from Eric
STATUS: Matt Zekauskas offered to check with Eric. Will report back via email or at next call - still pending
3. NTAC to comment on Internet2 Network Services Document. Matt Z to send latest version to NTAC
4. Joint Techs: note GigaPoP Geeks BoF to include discussion on commodity transit and commercial peering. Dan Magorian to lead.

Reminder that NTAC calls are 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Focus of calls will be on NTAC (1st Tuesday) and suggested working group updates (3rd Tuesday).
Internet2 Network update provided by Matt Zekauskas

- reported on Pittsburgh - working w/connector to get transitioned.
- Some discussion about MAX and Wash, reported waiting on 10 G interface.

Commodity and Peering working group
Update provided by Dan Magorian. Don't have much to talk about - meeting face to face at Joint Techs. People invited to talk. Will take place during GigaPoP Geeks BoF.
Looking forward to good face to face discussion.
Dan reported that Jose Dominguez is also coordinating the survey along with Jen Leasure (Quilt). Quilt was looking at getting information on larger number of points/data on business models - what Dan/Jose looking for is more specific technical issues. But coordinating as to avoid duplication or asking same questions. Hoping to have some more information to share by next call and after face to face meeting
NTAC issues:
NTAC composition
Paul provided background and alluded to NTAC "makeup" and membership requirements. Dave Farmer, Paul Schopis, Dave Reese offered to write an initial recommendation/write up on membership within this group, roles and expectations.
ACTION: Paul will ping them to check on status
NTAC and Technical Advisory:
Some discussion on whether NTAC relates to proposed technical advisory group under GNC recommendations and report.
Paul provided background on original NAG - Governance proposed changes came after. Current NTAC, especially after Chicago, more ad-hoc.

Ana alluded to report having recommendations on new structure, new board and advisory bodies structure. Implementation yet to take place but goal is to have in place as soon as possible. Technical council "make up" and implementation to be developed still. Please see wiki for more updates on this.
Current NTAC purpose is to advise internet2 as it rolls out new network. This group could provide further recommendations and send them to GNC.
Discussion about having a more specific charter for current NTAC- may be have it in place (for also future technical advisory body) by this Fall? Earlier?

Follow up on Measurement
Paul asked about status re. Measurement and per NTAC face to face, Eric Boyd was going to create new list; matt Z to check
Follow up on layer 2 working group:
Paul was able to talk to Jerry. Too busy, tossed a few names - asked if other folks would be interested in being part of group. Send Paul expression of interest.
Looking at HOPI-like things, signaling, Ethernet, etc.
John Streck mentioned that Chris Griffin from Florida would be a good choice for the chair - helped with lots of early discussions on NLR and Layer 2 deployment and FLR. Dave Pokorney to send contact info to Paul.
Cort Buffington interested but don't have direct deployment of Layer 2 stuff yet. Would like to stay involved.
Internet2 Network Service description Document:
Input on draft sent on Internet2 network Service descriptions. Request that Internet2 send the latest copy (which will be more broadly shared during Joint Techs)
