Meeting Notes
1.    NTAC Update
Paul, John and Linda continue discussion regarding the vice chair to chair transition for John.  Paul would like to have a chairs working group meeting at the FMM.
2.    Update from Internet2
Chris Robb mentioned that the CPS node in the Ashburn has been brought up.  There has also been a transition of traffic to Ashburn which has been positive.  He also indicated that the first of MX transitions will occur on Thursday, August 6 and the swap will take 3-4 hours.
Chris distributed the Architecture document to the NTAC and also distributed it to those attending JT.  The document was well-received and comments from those attending JT have been integrated into the document.
Rob added that Internet2 staff plan to gather technical and other comments to file with NOFA during the comment period.
3.    Update from AOAC
Paul referred to the letter that he sent to the NTAC earlier today.  It is a letter that the AOAC sent to Doug Van Houweling regarding the DYNES project that Harvey Newman discussed with the AOAC.  Internet2 will be submitting the proposal in collaboration with three scientists and will be asking for letters of collaboration from 40 institutions and 14 connectors.  The AOAC endorsed the proposal with caveats that were listed in the letter.
Discussion ensued and Ana offered to check with Eric to see if documentation regarding the project could be distributed to the NTAC.
4.    Update from Peering Working Group
Jeff Bartig indicated that the Peering Working Group did not meet in July.  Chris reiterated that the Ashburn upgrade is proceeding.
5.    Report from DCN Working Group
Linda Winkler mentioned that the ION service description document was distributed to the NTAC.  The AOAC and RAC recommended to Internet2 staff that they expedite deployment of DCN and make it a hardened service.  The ION service satisfies that request and provides DCN with a simple user interface.  Chris mentioned that there were some good comments gathered at Joint Techs and it appears that the service is headed in the right direction.
6.    Report from Routing Policy Working Group
David Farmer was unavailable.
7.    Update on Performance Working Group
Jeff Boote provided an update on the performance working group meeting that occurred at JT.  There was a discussion regarding a IPv6 anonymization policy and a recommendation to endorse the policy is moving through the councils. There was a demo using perfsonar to monitor circuits.  There was discussion regarding how often peers should do active tests with each other. Further, the group is seeking to get a vice chair for Performance Working Group.
8.    Update on ARIN issues
Michael Lambert indicated that he had reviewed the current draft ARIN proposals and he mentioned those that were relevant to the community.  Michael encouraged members of the NTAC to self-nominate for the ARIN Council.
9.    Phoebus/Bulk Transport
Steve Senger indicated that there was a working group meeting at Joint Techs and conversation continued regarding phoebus and how to turn it into a useful service for experimentation.
10.    Information & Infrastructure
