• Invitation to join the "VR Jam" on May 17th at 2:00 PM EST

  This platform is Windows only. It supports but does not require Oculus Rift and HTC Vive - you can also join using a traditional monitor/keyboard/mouse. It is available on Steam and Oculus Home but does not appear to be available as a standalone download. 
  Instructions to join:
• Launch the application
• (Optional) Configure your profile and avatar in “My Profile”
• Select “Join a Live Lesson”
Select “MyServer” from the list. NOTE: The platform does not appear to be working for custom meeting names and meeting passwords, so if there are more than one “MyServer” keep trying until you find the right one. If possible I will use the name “Metaverse” and the password “Internet2” but this was not working when I tested.feature/all-the-worlds-a-virtual-stage.php

12. Virtual NOC Collaborative Project
    
    • Collaborative project to develop a "virtual reality NOC" as a proof-of-concept to visualize network traffic and possibly develop a virtual "command and control" center.
    • Current Status:  Conference call with the GlobalNOC on May 31, 2017 to gauge interest, most involved in the discussion have not yet tried modern VR
    • Next Steps:  Select potential dates for in-person meeting hosted at GlobalNOC in Indianapolis to demo VR and discuss project scope

    • Apple announced VR support at WWDC 2017 (finally!) - https://www.theverge.com/2017/6/5/15743274/apple-external-gpu-vr-development-macos-high-sierra-wwdc-2017
      • New iMac and iMac Pro will be VR ready out of the box
      • External GPU dev kit (available now) should allow VR with MacBook 
      • High Sierra macOS update will include VR developer features, and Metal2 will natively support Unity, Unreal Engine, and SteamVR SDK
        
        
    • HTC Vive continues to have availability issues with hardware accessories
