Action Items

Everyone is asked to review Multi-Factor Authentication Solution Evaluation Criteria and Enterprise Deployment Strategies for Multi-Factor Authentication and send comments to the list. Assuming no unresolved comments by our next call, these documents will be promoted to "official" Cohortium documents.

The Shibboleth Multi-Context Broker enhancement for supporting multiple authentication contexts and MFA is in acceptance testing.
Potential uses for potential funding
- The participants were polled for their top two ideas.
  - A demonstration environment and centrally-provided MFA services were the most popular options with 4 and 3 votes respectively.
  - A pool of money that could be awarded to individual campuses was next with 2 votes, followed by funding connectors for the current Shibboleth and CAS enhancement projects with 1 vote.
  - Development of an open source MFA management system received no votes.
- Money is often not the issue. A case needs to be made to higher-level management. Perhaps presentations to CIOs and/or executive management?
- Centralized MFA services are a possibility, as are demo sites.
