T&I and Ops Update

  • There are 49 registered for CAMP/ACAMP (not including Internet2 staff). The program committee received 36 proposals (including BoF and lightning talk proposals). They are conducting a review and hope to have the first set of acceptances completed by October 14.
  • mailto: change in metadata has been completed. Ops did a lot of Q/A on this change. It was accomplished on about 98% of the entities; the rest were in editing process at the time. Zero help desk tickets so far.
  • Another change is coming in mid-October or early November - cryptographic support from SPs

International Update

  • Blog post from GEANT regarding plans for TNC 2021. Right now considering a hybrid meeting. Go/no-go decision will be made in February.
  • REFEDS - Heather sent doodle poll regarding what to focus on re: R&S. It is still open. Please complete the poll if you have an opinion.

Seamless Access

  • Newsletter went out this morning

2021 TAC Nominations

  • Community webinar on October 14 which will discuss the various advisory groups. Judith will represent TAC.To date, three re-nominees and one new nominee. Nominations are open through October 23.

IdP as a Service Working Group

  • EJ Monte was unable to join today to provide a report. This will be rescheduled.
  • There was a panel discussion CAMP proposal submitted. Ethan Kromhaut submitted.

Comparison Identifiers

  • This is a document that compares user identifiers (based on their definitions) in use within the InCommon Federation with five fundamental identifier characteristics to determine when and if an identifier is appropriate to use given any federated SSO scenario. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oPzFm1MKcdIk96VrRZXeTmIRMFgwYf4iDRe3tEHZMOE/edit#
  • Albert reported that the document is almost complete.
  • Some discussion about combining some sections of the document to improve readability.
  • Albert has a few changes yet to make.
  • For the chart, Nic suggested some language to define the terms Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent. Another suggestion is to use sufficient/insufficient instead. Or use a green checkmark with footnotes where needed.
  • Purpose of the chart - to emphasize the need to move to the new identifiers and provide a glance at the risks of continuing to support the old identifiers.

Deployment Profile - what’s next?

Albert - IdPaaS report calls out support for the deployment profile.

TAC- Review what is in the deployment profile. Will add this to the pre-reads for the next call. Albert will prepare a draft enumeration the profile statements and the relative status in the federation. Mark volunteered to help with that.
