Discussion with Liberty Alliance    Arnie Charlie has a contact

What is the synergy between this and PESC standards?

IMS LTI Protocol OAuth between LMS and content coming from other places on Internet. What will be the interaction between this and the auth layer/InCommon.

More examples of interactions being done right now.

More evangelization (Meteor) Picking a handful of PESC members and getting them to do pilot projects in the Pilot space. (ConnectEDU) Get more PESC members to join InCommon. Maybe 3 to 5 per year? Could be very small examples.

Session 2: New Topic, Getting a high school student quality credentials

Proposed by Arnie Miles:

Suggested topic: Getting a high school student credentials:

What is the identity proofing like when taking an exam:

            ACT:

Online registration: provide information about yourself

            Roster sent to test center

Person shows ID when they show up. Potential photographed and fingerprinted???

Confirmed by a test center manager

            SAT:

License is validated, no photo or fingerprints taken

What if someone doesn’t have a license?

            Other methods:  SSN, other credentials

Is an electronic identity issued?

            Yes

These may not rise to InCommon Silver LOA? Needs additional study.

 Use cases:

            Universities benefit from credentials

            Students’ benefit

What’s the value for getting K12 identities?

Helps Universities who want to get students to Silver

Meteor
