Discussion
There will be a teleconference bridge set up during the PESC F2F for people who can't come to SF. October 12 from 8:30 am to noon Pacific. Details will be posted to mailing list.
New I2 Spaces wiki up and running
Everything I get goes up there.
Minutes will be posted live immediately after each call.
Introducing Doug Falk and NSC interest in prototype
Using InCommon authn IdP's already to acces NSC sites. See tremendous benefit. Is volunteering to commit resources/hardware, software, personnel.
No long term decision has been made. NSC is not changing any current offerings, only offering to help with the prototype.
Long term we will need to identify the 3rd party IdP.
Nature of unique identifier
I think everyone is over-thinking this issue. The only requirements for this unique identifier are that it be 'unique'. As in globally unique. If states feel like it meets their requirements, they're free to use it. They're free to map to it. It's not meant to be human readable.
The other possible requirement might be that it might be desirable to allow multiple issuing authorities, which will require some way to maintain uniqueness across multiple issuers.
Flows and Requirements discussion
Nirmal and Randy review the slides they generated.
Michael Morris: Perhaps include an AdmitME portal that guides students to all the various opportunities.
Marketing effort required.
Information kept in AdmitME: will be decided through iterations through the prototype. Must be data that is common across vendors. Not be transient data. Must be sufficient for matching. Must be sufficient for password resets.
Consider business processes. Should we allow multiple AdmitMe accounts to point to a single College Board account?
Parking lot:
Matching problem Where is matching done? What do we need for matching? How does the matching flow go?
Marketing elements. Why would students want to click on "AdmitME"
Action Items
Create wiki page for "Parking Lot"
Requirements discussion will continue at PESC F2F
Consider other flows before F2F
