Discussion

Announcements and Updates

  • Linking SSO WG update (Rob, Chris, Les)

    • There will be an effort to put together a collection of common scenarios with pros and cons, and where they’re useful.

      • It’s not so much which is better, more the pluses and minuses in different scenarios.

      • Group members have already filled out forms describing their scenarios; this will be a synthesis.

  • Subject identifier adoption group update

    • No known progress; TAC canceled their last meeting, due to BaseCAMP and TNC.

    • CACTI can put this off as a standing item, if it’s not moving forward right now.

      • This seems to be a global phenomenon of people wanting to work on important problems, but don't have the time.

  • Community scribing and shifting I2 staffing arrangements

    • Need to move away from leaning on I2 for scribing, as Netta and Erin are leaving I2, and David's planned move away from scribing starts after this meeting.

    • There will be more information from Ann in the near future.
  • CACTI liaison to CTAB - biweekly meetings, Tuesdays when CACTI does not  meet

    • Mike is CACTI’s new liaison to CTAB.

  • Should we meet on July 5?

    • It looks like we’ll have a quorum, so the meeting will be held.

Read-outs from BaseCamp and TNC (in lieu of Community Update)

  • BaseCamp (Nicole, Steve, et al)
    • It was the largest of the four so far. 118 people. 22.5 hours. Almost as impactful as CAMP in terms of outreach and establishing relationships.
    • There were a number of instances of people becoming more interested in the Campus Success Program and the Trusted Access Platform.
  • TNC (Nicole, Chris, et al)

Themes

  • CEO Forum Redux (Kevin M + All)
    • Kevin shared the following graph as a method for framing discussions with CEO Forum and higher education executive management:

    • We’ve been focused on yellow portion. In fact, many in our field see only the yellow portion. There are threats, however, that affect the green and blue portions.
