CACTI themes for 2022
Rob discussed 2022 CACTI Focal Points as a starting point for this discussion, including previously-promised and ongoing activities, as well as potential areas of interest we could address in 2022.
- Distributed / self-sovereign identity
- The has significant impacts for our current trust model.
- Rob and Chris have been talking with Heather Flanagan of the InCommon TAC about a potential joint working group to discuss federated identity issues for digital wallets.
- There’s a good amount of work going on around the world (e.g., IEEE Integrated Learner Record (ILR) Ecosystems); where can we add value?
- Stoney: We should probably ask what people are working on (what’s immediately important), as well as what they’re interested in.
- Kevin H: Where are institutions hosting services (mail, MFA, new services…), cloud vs. local.
- Kevin M: We might be able to glean this from EDUCAUSE Core Data.
