Discussion
Announcements and Updates
- John Bradley: The U2F API is being deprecated in Chrome 76.
PeopleSoft Integration Working Group
- Pre-read: PeopleSoft Integration Working Group charter
- The proposal is to look at how to integrate PeopleSoft tools with our standard IAM tools.
- Rob reviewed the draft charter.
- CACTI accepted the charter with suggestions to include SSO integration explicitly and to add either an end date or a date when the charter is reviewed.
2022 CACTI Leadership Discussion
- Next call will include the two new CACTI members.
- Nicole will post roster of candidates for two leadership positions. Everyone gets two votes. The candidate with the most votes becomes the Chair; second place candidate will become the Vice Chair.
- Let Nicole know if you don’t want to be a candidate; otherwise, you'll be one.
- There's no deadline but it would be good to wrap things up by the end of the year.
- Action: Watch for the Chair and Vice-Chair ballots from Nicole, then vote.
Questions For The Community
Rob reviewed SWAG at categorizing Educause questions, ACAMP topics
- EDUCAUSE questions were...
- About 50/50 strategy vs. tactic
- About 2:1 technology vs. organization
- About 40% focused on specific product, about 50% of those on vendor product, 27% on TAP
- About 58% on benchmarking against others or “best practices”
- ACAMP session topics were...
- Not dissimilar for strategy vs. tactic
- About 89% technical vs. organizational
- Much more heavily focused on FOSS
- More focused on federation
- Less focused on bechmanrking and organiztion
- More focused on security/privacy
- Microsoft products were more prevalent in EDUCAUSE than ACAMP
- Microsoft and cloud decisions are most likely made top-down, based on cost and resource allocation.
- Criteria (and decisions) at the bottom are likely different
- CACTI should try to tease out these issues.
- The raw data is linked from the last slide.
