Internet2 has completed requirements to join Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) supported by the Internet Society.

The MANRS initiative identifies four objectives for network operators to achieve. These objectives are foundational best practices that improve inter-domain routing security in the internet by reducing the chances for attacks to succeed.

To join MANRS, an organization needs to demonstrate that it has implemented the four objectives. MANRS maintains a list of organizations that have joined. The list includes a growing number of U.S. and global R&E networks who have adopted these best practices.

The value of MANRS is proportional to the number of organizations that join. The more that join, the better routing security becomes for everyone. Let's work together to improve the security of inter-domain routing in the R&E ecosystem.
