Background

The InCommon Community Trust and Assurance Board (CTAB) invites you to participate in a consultation on the proposed process for the next round of Baseline Expectations.

  • The first document (BE2) describes the three new expectations for each of the three types of Federation actors: Identity Provider, Service Provider, and Federation Operator.
  • The second document (Implementation Guidance and Best Practices) provides useful information on updating systems to adhere to the new expectations.

Documents for Review/Consultation

BE2                 Baseline Expectations for Trust in Federation, version 2.0

PRACTICES    Implementation Guidance and Best Practices for Baseline Expectations 2

What is a consultation?

Working groups and advisory groups produce reports, recommendations, standards, best practices, and related documents. These are then provided to the community for review in the form of a consultation. In addition, policy and other documents developed by Internet2 Trust and Identity division staff may undergo the community consultation process to gather broader input and awareness before becoming finalized.

Replace the use of a specific vended product, with a standard. The standard in use by Qualys is the most current version of their SSL Server Rating Guide: https://github.com/ssllabs/research/wiki/SSL-Server-Rating-GuideNic Roy
