Baseline Expectations V2  be2-faq v2.0

    • There will be an upcoming newsletter item re-announcing commencement of BEv2 implementation  
      • Albert confirmed with Dean that there will a blurb in a Trust and Identity Newsletter going out in a few days. 
      • This is a periodic newsletter that features blog posts.  
      • Concern: Meshna has not seen this newsletter, what list does it go to?
      • Sent to the InCommon participants list and site admins
      • AI: (Albert) chat with Dean on whether we should expand the list of InCommon newsletter recipients
    • General strategy is to use targeted messages to communicate frequently with parties not meeting BE v2
    • AI (Albert and David) share a draft of the  targeted message to parties not meeting BE v2
  • BE 2 Rollout
    • CTAB members will have some responsibility in 2021 for contacting those organizations not meeting BE v2.
    • The updates made to InCommon entity contacts during BEv1 will be helpful. 

2021 CTAB Work Plan

  • 1 . Working Group to develop concrete implementation guidance for NIH requirements
    • Tom will coordinate.
    • Interested in participating: Rachana, Chris, Jon, Tom, David. Eric, Ercan, Brett Pal; Albert invite Scott Cantor, Kyle (NIH),Jule
  • 2.  Issues to look at for BE v3
    • Entity (IDP and SP) supports the REFEDS MFA Profile
    • All InCommon IDP shall support the REFEDS Research & Scholarship (R&S) Entity Category 

 Working Group to develop concrete implementation guidance for NIH requirements  

    • Tom will coordinate a CTAB sponsored working group to look at guidance for InCommon members guidance on NIH call to action 
    • Could include InCommon members and NIH people
    • Need to develop the guidance and get it to InCommon participants
    • CTAB will need to establish clear expectations around timing for the  proposed working group around NIH expectations 
    • ChrisW: makes sense for CTAB to form a working group and move forward
    • There’s a strong incentive for R&E to figure out what needs to be done to meet the NIH requirements.  
    • What kind of processes can they leverage to achieve assurance level needed, around MFA for example?
    • TomB has been convening a small group already, including ScottC
    • Input to REFEDs is important
    • Alignment with NIST identity proofing guidance is also important
    • Also to be taken up in REFEDs assurance working group that Jule chairs
    • AI Tom start drafting a charter for the proposed CTAB sponsored working group around NIH requirements
    • There should be a liaison from CTAB on the proposed working group
    • Interested individuals for proposed working group:

    • We should wear the CTAB hat and make the info more broadly available, amplify the work
