ECAS - Exploring Clouds for Acceleration of Science.

This is a project funded by NSF Award #1904444 under a Cooperative Agreement with Internet2 to manage a series of sub-awards to enable a selection of science projects to explore the use of commercial Cloud Services to advance their computational science needs.

WHAT's NEW?

The first phase of the project is now complete. From the 6 projects that participated in the first phase (project development), 2 projects were selected to be funded up to $880,000 each for the second phase of the project (accelerating science at scale).  Those 2 project are: Deciphering the Brain's Neural Code, (Bill Lytton and Salvador Dura-Bernal, SUNY Downstate Medical Center); and Heterogeneous Computing for the LHC, (Philip Harris, MIT).
