This is a collaboration space for the Technology Issues Subgroup of the MFA Cohortium. Unless otherwise designated, everything contained here should be viewed as a work in progress, subject to change without notice.

The Technology Issues Subgroup explores common technology issues related to the deployment of multi-factor authentication. Issues include:

  • Selection of form factor (e.g., mobile device, hardware token, soft token)
    • Selection of mobile client (e.g., Tiqr, Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile)
  • Selection of authentication type (e.g., telephony-based methods, symmetric keys, public-key cryptography, etc.)
  • Selection of authentication system (e.g., RADIUS, Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory)
  • Selection of single sign-on (SSO) system (e.g., Shibboleth, CAS, simpleSAMLphp)
  • Usability
  • Accessibility
  • Architecture and integration with existing identity management systems

Meetings

The Technology Issues Subgroup meets every other week via conference call on alternate Fridays, 2:00p-3:00p ET, starting August 9, 2013.

The tech@lists.cohortium.internet2.edu list is used for communication between meetings.
