Scope for Steering
Today’s meeting is primarily a brainstorming session. The outcome will be a list of InCommon activities, and activities related to InCommon, to be used as part of the discussion of Steering’s role in Internet2’s Trusted Identity in Education and Research initiative.
The planning wiki page was edited during the discussion. Two lists emerged. One includes activities that are the direct responsibility for InCommon (and, thus, for Steering). The second includes activities that are related to InCommon, as well as relationships that need to be managed. Some of these activities have been part of the Internet2 Middleware Initiative.
The brainstorming has yielded a broad potential portfolio. The agenda for the InCommon executive committee call (May 13) will include a discussion of how to refine this list, with the result discussed on the next full Steering call on May 20. All Steering members are invited to participate in the May 13 call (same PIN as regular Steering calls).
(AI) All Steering members should review the list on the wiki page and make additions/suggestions before the May 13 call.
InCommon TAC
There was a brief discussion about the relationship between Steering and TAC.
Identity Landscape TAC Subcommittee
This subcommittee has developed a chart of known identity projects and is working on finishing its report. The work should be finished by June 3, 2013. Discussion will be scheduled for the June 17, 2013, Steering call.
