This is the Software Defined Networking (SDN) collaboration space. The workgroup has been formed to share information and educate each other in the community at large on:
How campuses would achieve connections to the emerging OpenFlow backbone provided by the Internet2
How regional optical network would enable such campus connections or connections of their own peering with the I2's OpenFlow core
SDN is expected to enable significant convergence in the networks for experimentation and production traffic to co-exist (with almost no isolation). Therefore, the WG is open to anyone from academia, industry, and IT personnel to start such discussions on how we can make such convergence possible.
