The NET+ Kion program brings Kion, a multi-cloud enablement tool that provides robust cost management, account automation, security monitoring, and policy enforcement across AWS, GCP and Azure for the research and higher ed community who can use can use Kion product offerings for for Automation & Orchestration, Financial Management, and Continuous Compliance for cloud enablement across multi-cloud.
Currently, the program is in the Early Adopters phase of the NET+ Service Lifecycle. Early Adopter subscribers play a critical role in refining and improving the service as well as developing a strong working relationship with the service vendor. The Early Adopter group meets monthly with the Kion team to share their deployment progress, unmet challenges, and lessons learned but with the broader goal of bringing the community together.

Participate in our Subscriber Community
Email discussion list and Slack: Institutions participating in the NET+ Kion program may take advantage of our email discussion list and Slack channel to communicate with peer institutions, receive curated program updates and participate in other activities and events.
Service Advisory Board (limited to subscribers to the NET+ Kion program): The NET+ Kion Service Advisory Board will kick off upon sufficient addition of subscribers.

Service Evaluation Process
The NET+ Service Evaluation process is a member driven approach to evaluate cloud services to ensure they meet common standards for the research and education community. Kion entered into the NET+ Service Evaluation process in May, 2022 and an agreement was signed in October 2022. Read here about the process that surfaced this innovative product to the community and the work that has been done to launch the newest member of the NET+ portfolio. An October 2022 webinar provided an overview of the service evaluation process and launched this new NET+ offering. Watch the recording and review the slides in the webinar folder.
Twelve geographically diverse, public and private universities, completed the evaluation of a number of aspects of the Kion offering, with a focus on capabilities provided in their offering and priorities identified by the service evaluation team. These areas included:
- Developed a business model that helps institutions manage budgets and the current economic climate
- Building scalable higher education specific contractual terms and pricing
