Overview
Next Call Topic: Unconscious Bias - Small Group Discussion
When: May 21, 2:00-3:00 pm EST
You asked for more discussion on the topic, so here we go! At our April 23 session, Beth Schaefer presented an overview of unconscious bias, along with examples and suggested responses. So this week, Beth will provide a quick review and then we’ll break into small groups (Zoom breakout sessions) with some scenarios to guide discussion. Participants will be able to share their experiences and develop usable action plans. You need not to have been present at the previous session to participate.
All women, allies, and advocates are invited to join in a conversation on our biases and our responses.
Please join us at Zoom, https://ksu.zoom.us/j/98050557163, or see the ITANA events calendar for more connectivity details.
This working group will focus on effective practices in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in all aspects of enterprise, business, and technical architecture. Through both virtual and face-to-face networking opportunities, and by making good use of its affiliation with Itana, the goal of this group is to provide sustainable resources for women, their allies, and advocates in addressing a wide range of issues affecting women IT professionals in colleges and universities.
All meetings scheduled for every other Wednesday at 11a Pacific, 2p Eastern. See the Itana Events page for details.
