eduroam-US provides a secure and privacy-preserving wireless roaming

Currently, widespread use of real outer identities and absence of strict PKI based two-way authentication delivers less than secure and privacy-preserving roaming. While not wanting specific requirements in the Charter, there should be some recognition of need to drive changes toward greater security and privacy, including adopting stronger requirements in GÉANT's verson of eduroam.David.Bantz@alaska.edu
2"and is a participant in the global eduroam service, operated by GÉANT."the Global eduroam Governance Committee (GeGC) is not noted in the document. Internet2 being a member of this - is the eAC to provide recommendations/requirements to their representative to table at GeCG?

3"serve one-year terms to begin on January 1 and end on December 31."whilst neat for calendar, doesnt align nicely for handover process (holidays) nor the usual academic/business quarters

4"all participating institutions."eduroam can be delivered via commercial and other WISP offerings - eg airports/shopping malls, city-municipal coverage

5"research and education (R&E) eduroam operators"National Roaming Operators (NROs) not mentioned in the document
