Precondition: A record in the TIER Entity Registry is determined to have conflated the data of two or more 'actual' persons. At the start, a single record in the Entity Registry refers to a single record in the SOR. Additional SOR records will need to be created to rectify the situation.

  1. Alter the SOR record pointed to by the Entity Registry record such that it reflects the correct data for the person identified by that SOR identifier.
  2. From the SOR, notify the Entity Registry that the SOR record has been updated, and its data needs to be re-imported.
  3. Create additional SOR records for each distinct person. For each new record, invoke the Entity Registry's Search/Match functionality.
  4. TODO: resolve issues around renames of identifiers in downstream systems
