Webinar/Working Calls

Hi All,

The ITANA Spring 2009 Face2Face has been canceled as you all know. Instead, because we did not meet our minimum registration mark. I have heard from many members that they are under travel restrictions or complete travel bans and know that this is a financially difficult time for our institutions. I also know that these restrictions have impacted registration for many other national meetings as well.

I'm working with Internet2 and EDUCAUSE to find a way to still bring these discussions to the constituency. There is great interest in the program we developed for this meeting and in finding ways to gather and collaborate on the topics. To this end, a series of joint web-based presentations with conference call sessions are in the works. There are also local meet-ups being planned. Stay tuned.

we will hold a series of webinars using Internet2's Adobe Connect and our phone bridge. Each of these Webinar/Working sessions will be 90 minutes long. There will be an opening Webinar presentation with discussion followed by a working session.

I hope that we can use these sessions to bring the Face2Face sessions to the members. I also hope that we will be able to still have the dynamic conversations and discussions that we have had at our Face2Face meetings.

I believe that we will develop a model for making these Webinars with Working Sessions productive and useful. I also believe that this model of collaboration will be an opportunity for each of you to present to your peers and get feedback from the group.

Until then, I hope you will join with me in finding creative ways to continue our work together.
