Internet2 is transitioning its Confluence wiki from spaces.at.internet2.edu to spaces.at.internet2.edu. This is more than just an address change. The new instance will use a new registry and permissions management system, so all users will have a new record in this system.

...

Will the links that I have saved (like bookmarks) still work?

Links to existing spaces.at.internet2.edu will be redirected to spaces.at.internet2.edu for a period of time to avoid any issues with saved links.  It is recommended to avoid creating short links using external tools like goo.gl, bitly.com, etc. as well as full hard coded links to spaces pages.  Instead, using the Share feature of Confluence will provide a shortened link that also will follow pages even when they are moved within spaces. However, we recommend you change your bookmarks, since the redirects will be discontinued at some point.

Do I need to create a new account in the new wiki?

That depends. We have migrated as many records as possible, but those with missing elements were not migrated. Some records in the old wiki had incomplete information (missing name or missing email address, for example). If, on August 6, you can log into spaces.at.internet2.edu, and your permissions all seem right, you don’t need to do anything.

If you cannot log in, that means you will need to register in the new wiki. You can use this link to register. Please do not try to register until after August 6. Otherwise, you will need to re-register after that date. Also, consider re-registering with the same email. We may be able to link your new account to your older privileges. Here are screen shots of the registration process.
