The three traditional dimensions of t= he academic endeavor are: research and scholarship, instruction, and servic= e. Candidates for the R&S Category are low-risk Service Providers that&= nbsp;support research and scholarship as an essential component. = For example, a service providing tools for both multi-institution= al research collaboration and instruction is eligible as a candidate for th= e R&S Category. However, because of the risk involved, a= Service Provider that engages&nb= sp;subjects in experiments that require specific oversight is not elig= ible for the R&S Category.
