The minutes of the September 1 meeting w= ere approved.
Action Item Update - Steve Carmody= sent the TAC recommendation for implementing an IdP-only aggregate to InCo= mmon Steering
There was a discussion about what the gr= oup would like to accomplish in the face-to-face meeting at TechEx. One ite= m is to understand the role of TAC in the coming year. Another is to have a= discussion about the =E2=80=9Cbig concerns=E2=80=9D facing the community. = It was suggested that the latter be led by a newer TAC member. (AI) Steve C= armody will send a note in this regard to the TAC email list.
It will soon be time to issue a call for= new TAC members with terms starting January 1, 2017.
There was a brief discussion about wheth= er there is a conflict in timing with the new CACTI group, but that is not = a concern.
Scott Cantor and Keith Hazelton both exp= ressed that their terms are ending and they will not be standing for anothe= r term. There was discussion about the holes in experience that this will c= reate, as well as whether there are other specialty roles/expertise needed.= Two possible areas are =E2=80=9Cresearch VO=E2=80=9D and =E2=80=9Csponsore= d partner.=E2=80=9D
After much discussion, it was decided th= at Steve Carmody will draft a call for nominations (sending it to TAC on Se= pt. 16 and to the community on Sept. 19). The note will emphasize that self= -nominations are welcome and that anyone from an InCommon Participant is el= igible. Sending the call prior to TechEx will allow for contacts and discus= sions at the meeting. The nomination deadline is October 11.
Deployment Profile WG - This group will = hold its first call this afternoon to gather those interested and refine th= e scope. There will also be a meeting on Tuesday of TechEx. = p>
OpenID Connect WG - There will be a meet= ing at TechEx, with the hope to distribute a survey in early October=
Configuration Guides - Janemarie has dra= fted a call for those interested in preparing a configuration guide for spe= cific services. The EDUCAUSE IdM list and the Shib list might be good place= s to recruit. It might also be of value to discuss this with the Big Ten ac= ademic coalition. There is a template that people can use to create these g= uides. It may be beneficial to identify services that are less complicated = and recruit people to document their experience with those. Having a few gu= ides publicly available might spur others to create guides for other servic= es.
