InCommon Base Level Profile  (6/15/2016)      Identifier:    http://id.incommon.org/assurance/baselevel  Date Approved:   TBD  Purpose  This InCommon Base Level Profile provides a definition of “InCommon Base Level” for  authentication. The intent of this profile is merely to establish a base profile with no explicit  authentication requirements. It also defines an authentication context for expressing this in  SAML.     The “InCommon Base Level” Authentication Context can be used by Service Providers (SPs) to  indicate that any authentication method will be accepted. Typically this profile would be  requested in conjunction with other (more preferred) profiles in authentication requests.  Use in SAML   In a SAML assertion, compliance can be communicated by asserting the InCommon Base Level  AuthnContextClassRef:  http://id.incommon.org/assurance/baselevel     [TBD: Define the formal AuthnContextClassRef]  Criteria  Compliance with this profile may be asserted to indicate that the session was authenticated by  e.g. the IdP but that any other specific criteria ( , of other InCommon profiles) may not have been  met.
