Vendor Participation in the Cohortium

The MFA Cohortium is a collaboration among universities to advance the use of multi-factor authentication in higher education. Commercial vendors comprise a critical element of the identity ecosystem, so we welcome all interested vendors to participate. The Cohortium will be representative of a significant market segment in higher education, and will be in a unique position to provide valuable input into vendor product design. With some exceptions noted below, vendor representatives may join the electronic mail discussions, access information on the wiki, and participate in conference calls.

  • Vendors' participation does not extend to marketing their products and services. Vendors may not utilize the membership list for marketing purposes, and are asked to curtail discussions of products and services on the mailing list and in calls.  If the group determines a need for vendor-specific discussions, specific calls will be scheduled.
  • There may be situations where vendors must be excluded from Cohortium discussions. As appropriate, separate mailing lists and restricted portions of the wiki will be created, and university-only calls will be scheduled.
  • The Cohortium is not a forum for discussion of proprietary information.  In particular, non-disclosure agreements will not be executed through the Cohortium.
  • Finally, participating vendors acknowledge that, by participating in the Cohortium, they agree to abide with the Internet2 Intellectual Property Framework.  Any software or documentation produced by the Cohortium will be released under an open source license.
