Agenda for MFA Cohortium meeting: 02-19-2014 2:00 PM EST

These calls are held every other Wednesday in this same time slot. Next call will be 03/05/2014.

  • Presentation/discussion of University of Virginia's MFA environment from Jim Jokl
    • Jim will talk briefly about their "two" 2-factor solutions (client certs on workstations and SafeNet tokens) and then spend most of the time on SafeNet tokens (Virginia has thousands of users on Safenet tokens and have been using them for years) and lead into token management at the end.
  • Discussion of the interest and needs for a MFA Management Console, and our plans to:
    • form a working group to focus on: "MFA Management Consoles. This group will continue the discussions that have been raised by Nick Roy and others about the need for a vendor-independent management console for institutions that operate multiple MFA technologies. It will identify common needs in higher education for advocacy with Duo (as the issue was original posed), as well as, potentially, a collaborative open source project."
    • identify how we can help with a set of institutions who have an immediate need for self-enrollment tools for Duo, and have been all planning to produce those tools independently. Can we provide coordination and/or a structure to at least enable sharing of ideas, or perhaps even code?
    • See Mike Grady's Mail of 2-3-2014
    • See A Vendor-Independent MFA Management Console
