*Action Items*
(AI) (Leo De Sousa) will send information to Jim Phelps about how BCIT uses the Zachman Framework.

*EDUCAUSE*

Jim Phelps reported on the ITANA session at EDUCAUSE. At that session, he did an overview of ITANA and its work. Mike Fary reported out on the data management survey.

Leo De Sousa did an all-day pre-conference seminar on enterprise architecture, which attracted 48 participants. The session centered on the practices at BCIT and at Charles Sturt University in Australia.

*Working Group F2F*

There was a discussion about the work that might be done at the Face2Face, planned for the day prior to the CSG meeting in Boulder. The F2F would take place January 6, 2009. One idea is to divide into sub-groups, with each group having a task or topic area. Some examples are:

• Distilling the data management survey and developing working items for ITANA
• Wiki pruning
• Investigation/recommendation for ITANA involvement in the Business Intelligence area
• Videotape case studies of how architecture got started on your campus. The case studies would involve both an architect and a CIO. Jim will produce a sample at the University of Wisconsin. Jim is looking for institutions to participate in this at the F2F. Every effort would be made to keep the use of a CIO's time to a minimum.

*Future F2F*

In planning the next Face2Face, the best time, tentatively, seems to be in conjunction with the Internet2 Spring Member Meeting in Arlington, Virginia. The Member Meeting will take place April 27-29, 2009. The thinking is for ITANA to take place April 29-30. Jim will stay in contact with Renee Frost and Ann West concerning these dates/times and logistics.

*Zachman Framework*

There was a brief discussion about the use of the Zachman Framework. Jim Phelps Is looking for those who use the framework. (AI) (Leo De Sousa) said that BCIT uses it as a thinking tool and he will send information directly to Jim.

*ITANA Sub-groups*

There was a discussion about whether ITANA members feel the group is involved in the right areas, as well as a discussion about providing appropriate deliverables. For example, what will the final data management survey report look like and where will it appear?

Jim Phelps has a thought of developing sub-groups within ITANA, with a volunteer serving as "hunter/gatherer" - hunting down information relevant to the purpose of the sub-group, gleaning information from minutes and the wiki, and summarizing relevant email threads.

Some of the discussion centered on creative ways to disseminate information, such as webinars and recorded presentations.

Some potential sub-group areas under discussion include service-oriented architecture, business intelligence, project management processes needed to get EA off the ground, and privilege management.

Working group members are asked to think about kinds of deliverables that ITANA should be creating and how those should be distributed.
