Hello TAC members!

International Update
In case you missed it, the eduGAIN Security Incident Response Handbook will likely be published in the next few weeks. The Handbook was brought to REFEDS attention last year for an informal consultation; since it is not a REFEDS product, this was done as an FYI to the community rather than something REFEDS would approve and publish. You can see the current draft on the consultation page, and expect an announcement pointing to the final copy in the coming weeks: https://wiki.refeds.org/display/CON/Consultation%3A+eduGAIN+Security+Incident+Response+Handbook

Research & Scholarship Entity Category v2 - the next call to discuss R&S v2 is scheduled for Friday, 22 January @ 10am Eastern. The main (and probably only) topic for this call will be the identifier issue. There has been very little compromise on this issue, so the conversation is likely to be quite contentious. The meeting agenda and v/c information are available on the REFEDS wiki: https://wiki.refeds.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=65896595

The REFEDS Schema Editorial Board also meets later this month and will discuss modifications to the description and values for schacGender. The current definition for that attribute is wildly insufficient, and thanks go to Halil Adem for bringing to everyone’s attention via the REFEDS Slack channel on the eduGAIN Slack instance.

NISO Plus 2021 will be online this year. The target audience is the library and information management communities, and SeamlessAccess as well as FIM in general are on the agenda. The conference anticipates a global reach, so the timing for the sessions is quite varied. See https://niso.plus/

SeamlessAccess Update
SeamlessAccess sent out a newsletter earlier this month. If you are not on the announce list, you can also see a copy on the SeamlessAccess blog: https://seamlessaccess.org/posts/

SeamlessAccess governance members will also be meeting this month to discuss long-term sustainability and business models for the project. InCommon/Internet2 will be represented, as well GÉANT, the STM Association, and NISO.
