Log into the Federation Manager as a Site Administrator(SA).

Click on the entity you wish to update to bring up the View/Edit page.

On the left navigation, click "Metadata Export Options".

Export options for an Identity Provider

The Incommon Federation by default exports Identity Provider (IdP) metadata to the eduGAIN inter-federation to facilitate international academic collaboration. We strongly recommend leaving this option checked so that your users can participate in global research and scholarly pursuits. 

If you uncheck this box, your IdP will not be listed in the global eduGAIN metadata. Resources located in other countries will not be able to direct your users to your IdP to sign in.

Export options for a Service Provider

The Incommon Federation does not by default export Service Provider (SP) metadata to the eduGAIN inter-federation. If you wish to make your service available to the international community, check this box to export your SP metadata to eduGAIN.
