In April of this year, we shared that Federation Manager will begin supporting federated access for Site Admins this summer. That time has arrived. The latest version of Federation Manager, deployed on July 9, 2024, supports federated access for Site Administrators.

Site Admins will receive individual invitation emails to migrate to federated access in the coming days. In addition, a general email announcement is going out to all Site Admins this week:

Message sent from Johnny Lasker to the InCommon Site Administrators on July 10, 2024

Subject: Enabling Federated Access to InCommon Federation Manager Portal

The InCommon Federation Manager will require federated single sign-on (SSO) authentication starting 1/15/25. All users must complete an enrollment to maintain their access. After 1/15/25, legacy username/password authentication methods will no longer be supported.

In the coming weeks, existing Site Administrators will receive an invitation by email to complete an enrollment. Can’t wait? Log in with your existing username and password and you’ll see an option to initiate your enrollment invitation.

If you have questions, please consult the Internet2 Identity Services Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), or email help@incommon.org for further assistance.

If you’ve received this email in error, please disregard it.

Thanks,

The Federation Manager Team
