CLASS: Cloud Learning and Skills Sessions is part of Internet2's Cloud Infrastructure Community Program (CICP). The CLASS Voucher Program is designed to reduce administrative barriers, making it easier for institutions to sign up for vital cloud training, driving innovation and skill-building across the research and education community. As a program benefit, CICP subscribing institutions will be given a voucher each year they are part of the program, but vouchers can be purchased or topped off by any institution at any time.
How It Works
The voucher is essentially an account you can draw from when members of your institution wish to enroll in CLASS. It simplifies the registration process by eliminating internal administrative steps each time someone wishes to register. Vouchers are issued annually to CICP subscribing institutions as a benefit of the program, but they can also be purchased. Additional value can be added to your voucher at any time.

How to get a Voucher
- Any institution may buy a voucher at any time. Please email class@internet2.edu with the amount you would like to start with.
- Any institution may add to their voucher by emailing class@internet2.edu with the amount they wish to add.
- Institutions that subscribe to the Cloud Infrastructure Community Program and are current on their participation fee will receive a voucher pre-loaded with value each year. See CICP Subscriber Voucher Allocation below for details.
- In order to ensure that the use of the voucher is approved, institutions must designate an individual (voucher manager) to authorize requests to use it.
Voucher Use
- Vouchers can be applied to eligible CLASS sessions.
- The institution's voucher manager sends an email to class@internet2.edu indicating the scheduled CLASS session(s) they are sending someone.
- The CLASS team will respond with a unique registration code for the individual(s) to use when signing up.
- The voucher balance is reduced based on the course fee.
- If the remaining balance of the voucher is not enough to cover the full course fee, the registrant will be responsible for paying the balance during registration.
CICP Subscriber Voucher Allocation
Institutions that are subscribed to CICP and are current on their annual participation fee will receive a voucher. Vouchers are allocated based on your institution’s CICP membership tier and are issued annually. They are valid until December 31, 2025 (if issued before June 30, 2025) or December 31, 2026 (if issued after July 1, 2025). Current voucher amounts are:
- Tier 1: $1,000
- Tier 2: $750
- Tier 3: $500
- Tier 4: $250

A: Vouchers issued before June 30, 2025, expire on December 31, 2025. Vouchers issued after July 1, 2025 and before December 31, 2025, will expire on June 30, 2026.

Q: How do I check my voucher balance?

Q: What happens if my institution has a leftover balance at the end of the year?
