  1. Internet2 Global Summit Feedback
    1. "Be a Hero: Enable and Maximize the Value of Identity Federation" Tues, April 28

                                               i.     Because it was a panel discussion with different perspectives, there weren’t a lot of questions beyond the discussion.

                                              ii.     There were non-Quilt regionals who were asking questions

                                             iii.     In general there were topics about scaling and what is preventing you from scaling, policy, use of federated credentials (use of attributes / policy of not releasing email) Research lab test bed (SDN-like) They had a policy where they would release name and email but Universities had an issue with this. COPA and K-12 attributes were a sticking point. Ann West was a moderator and provided an overview of a middle model of the different challenges in a layered approach. Conceptually it was positive

  1. InCommon Quilt Pilot BOF  Wed., April 29 

                            i.     Business model discussion was positive. There wasn’t controversy. A couple of questions were asked about elements of the role of a “registration steward.”

                            ii.     This is in the process of running through

  1. Other sessions, hallway conversations, etc?
  2. Next Steps for Summarizing Pilots
    1. Process for producing artifacts sharing experiences and lessons learned

                                               i.     It is felt that it is time to move to wrap up original pilot and move to a new phase

  1. Complementary work was being done in various groups. There was an attempt to “broaden the reach” This hasn’t been consolidated in a useful way.
    1. Task InCommon / working groups to make sure that all the wikis know about each other

                         i.     New Entities Working Group (David Walker) (etc.)

  1. Summary of Learning’s

               i.     It is important to get these down on paper

               ii.     Open up to a wider community – K-12

  1. Is there a different direction beyond doing more pilots
    1. Outreach in working with CoSN
    2. K-12 Joint Taskforce (no longer active) / EDUCAUSE / CoSN

                       i.     Should this be resurrected

                         ii.     Should this be presented at a CoSN conference

                        iii.     Is the group far enough along?

  2. Registration Authority Agent Model

                   i.     Might be good to wait to see how the Steward Model went

                   ii.     Regional would be vetting

    1. Once we complete reporting on the original pilots, does it make sense to transform from "All Pilots" calls into an InCommon / Quilt / Regionals / K12 Consortium Collaboration Group? (Do not need to decide right away, just something to consider as we move forward)
