Nate:  Jimmy has not deployed CPR before. As a result, there is some learning going on for everyone. A number of small hurdles.

Installed on his own machine and wired to connect to an LDAP server he deployed. He resolved some issues there. Also working on the UI with support within Penn State to get the UI set up. A number of obvious next steps:

Set up and skin UI with CommIT look and feel

Rewire the CPR instance so it is talking to the CommIT LDAP server so we can do load testing. Looking at Apache 389

Reconfigure the demonstration interface to hit CPR

We are waiting on Jimmy to get things to a point where we're ready to progress on those 3 streams. Perhaps another couple of weeks at the worst. Hoping to have more to report at next tech call. 

Jeff:  Flexible cloud infrastructure for hosting within ConnectEDU. Cleared with Rick Blaisdell, their CTO, to use this space for both CommIT and CDS (a PESC project). Jeff needs an infrastructure diagram of proposed infrastructure and a punch list of what needs to be on each VM in terms of software, version numbers, etc. Management console, VPN access. They will provision machines. They need sizing, memory, storage, cluster configuration, however complicated it needs to be up to the point of logging us into a life system. They will set up snapshots for checkpointing and roll-backs. Unlimited storage. We need to discuss an SLA before going into production. Needs namespaces, discovery. Internet2 or PESC namespace? Something else? Need to discuss how these will be. They are fine with doing 6 school pilot SLA at no cost. Need to define ConnectEDU's requirements at the end of the pilot. 

OS, memory, storage, shared or cluster, VLAN vs app servers.  Minimal information. Willing to size for end game and only invite 6 schools for pilot. Let's build a complete wish list. Nate would love better sizing information regarding sizing and storage.

Discussion with Michael Morris about some details about what ACT's involvement might look like at the pilot stage.
