The Grouper project is no longer active at UBC as of 2014
The University of British Columbia (UBC) deployed Grouper 1.5 in 2010 to address its group management and entitlement management requirements.
Extract-Transform-Load (ELT) processes push data into Grouper from Systems of Record (SoRs), and from Grouper into authentication / authorization services such as Microsoft's Active Directory and Atlassian's Crowd. Very much a work in progress, UBC's deployment of Grouper will see significant changes in 2011 as we begin to make use of Grouper's Roles, Permissions and Rules mechanisms as exposed by the new user interface screens available in version 2.0.
