Integration of external identities is possible within a particular service provider, or within an institutional IdMS
There are different types of linking.
No linking. Identities received from different identity providers appear to be different people.
Link external credentials to an existing person record. People can use different authentication methods, but their attributes are maintained via local processes.
Merge attributes. Attributes other than credentials are merged from external identity providers.
