A member of an institution of higher education, or other trusted organization, wishes to establish a user identity as a Bamboo Person. This individual is able to authenticate against infrastructure that is known and trusted by Bamboo. Roles associated with her Bamboo identity/profile must include an assertion of her affiliation with the trusted institution / organization, as her activity may thereby be less constrained than an unaffiliated person (e.g., she has access to content or services that an unaffiliated person may not access). Some activity may require reauthentication through the trusted infrastructure to check the currency of an assertion of affiliation.
