Action Item Review:

 Agenda

  1. Administrivia
    1. Please say your name when you start to speak, until we learn each others' voices
    2. Please ask colleagues to define terms, expand acronyms, etc, until we learn each others' jargon
    3. It's ok to challenge your colleagues in pursuit of quality of discourse. Hopefully in a nice way
    4. Please disclose any conflicts of interest you may have in any of the agenda topics, and potentially excuse yourself from the relevant conversations
    1. Please use the CACTI scribing doc
    2. Internet2 Intellectual Property Agreement reminder
    3. CACTI Charter pointer
    4. Agreements:
    5. Volunteer(s) to scribe (new standing item)
  2. Agenda bash
  3. Announcements
    1. Working Group Updates (email only) - Please share via email on the CACTI list ahead of time
  4. Main Business
    1. Voting for 2023 membership
      1. Ballot (Google form) created. Ballot will be sent 11/8, return by end of business 11/21.
      2. 6 seats are open.  3 vacants and 3 current/returning.
      3. Spreadsheet to review nominees  - CACTI Nominees - Term starting 2023 - Google Sheets
      4. Maybe need to address the membership rotation gap coming up in three years, at some point
      5. Officer selections for next year can happen after membership votes.
    2. Component Architecture group charter
      1. Component Architecture grew from TIER which no longer exists with a focus on modularity of solutions. Component Architecture has touches with many groups.  Relationships with Catalyst partners, projects, contractors.
      2. Membership - automatic (lead architects, lead contributors) limited (SMEs pulled in for purpose specific initiative)
      3. Conflict of interest is a concern due the nature of Component Architecture. One vote for one person instead of one vote per role to achieve a plurality
      4. Work output is covered by existing standard and software licensing which has been reviewed. All software must be unencumbered.
      5. Component Architecture oversees change management of solutions.
      6. Component Architecture & CACTI must work together to ensure effective portfolio management.  Align needs with the ability to deliver
