Further Defining TIER Working Groups  

  • Architecture Strategy (this group)

    • TomB will chair this interim group

    • Next Steps: AI - Ann to fInalize charter.

    • Tools for TIER:

      • AI - Tom and Emily to identify common tools to use for iCAPE

    • AI - Select 5 Senior Architects to invite to this group

    • AI - Ann to talk Valter Nordh re: international participation

  • Component Architects

  • Data Structures and API

    • Core Group with larger community list open to the world

    • Drafting of standards to be done by a small group

    • then use a transparent vetting process with chair providing the message:
      perhaps:

    • 3 weeks for vetting, with InCommon/Internet2 kicking off the vetting process?

    • 2 weeks to review and incorporate changes.

    • 2 weeks to vet final version.

      • Tom: REFEDs uses that process

      • IETF - the comment cycle is part of the WG process

    • Membership:

    • Interim chair: Keith Hazelton to connect with local folks about release time.

  • Security and Audit

  •  Containerization/Packaging 

     Focus on Shib as Phase 1 of the Containerization Effort

           Date for TIER first release? Possibly April 2016 at earliest

            SteveZ: this first release will be about integration, not about new features

            Packaging will be something to point to
            AI - JimJ will rewrite the " containerization" WG charter somewhat and include packaging

         Paul will present at Tech Ex on Making Shib Easier, will do some surveying at that session

         Making Shib Easier would be a good ACAMP topic
